The ICJ has ordered Israel to take immediate action to prevent acts of genocide. Notably, the court refrained from calling for a ceasefire, prompting South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor to express her hopes for such measures. The ruling also mandates Israel to report back within a month on its actions, creating international legal obligations. But the situation on the ground proves once again that the US-backed Israeli regime has paid no heed to the court’s ruling.
